Continuing Legal Education
NPAP provides attorneys with tools, strategies, and litigation skills for advancing police accountability and challenging carceral violence. Through in-person and virtual CLEs, NPAP provides a space for attorneys to share litigation skills, practical guidance on case strategy, and learn from experts in police misconduct litigation.
Each program is accredited in multiple states and eligible for self-reporting in most jurisdictions. As a national organization, we are committed to making sure our CLE programming is accessible to practitioners in all states, by offering virtual participation.
We offer virtual CLEs throughout the year and 2 hybrid CLEs each year. One in the Spring and another in the Fall.
Some of our recent CLE topics include:
- Legal Tactics to Challenge Jails, Prisons, and Detention
- Virtual Training on Medical Records Review
- Strategies and Tactics to Challenge Government Oppression in 2025
- Tips to Build and Win Police and Jail Misconduct Cases
We also offer ongoing series, including:
- Trial Tales: Recurring virtual programming where we spotlight trial wins of NPAP members, where they reflect on trial strategies, case preparation, lessons, and emerging developments in police misconduct litigation and advocacy.
- Lunch with an Expert: Virtual programming where we feature industry experts who share insight to strengthen police misconduct litigation. Past featured experts include: medical professionals, mental health professionals, legal workers, and advocates.
